The Police Regional Office in Eastern Visayas has welcomed a new director, Brig. General Jay Cumigad, who replaces Brig. General Reynaldo Pawid, was recently reassigned to the Philippine National Police headquarters.
Cumigad previously led the PNP Highway Patrol Group and officially assumed his role on October 9, although his formal ceremony is yet to take place.
A turnover ceremony was held at Camp Brig General Rafael T. Crame, officiated by PNP Chief Police Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil.
In his speech, Cumigad emphasized his commitment to enhancing public safety, especially in preparation for the upcoming national and local elections on May 12, 2025.
Pawid expressed gratitude to the PNP-8 personnel for their support during his tenure and voiced confidence in Cumigad’s leadership.
