MARCOS IS CONFIDENT BONOAN WILL TELL THE TRUTH IN THE FLOOD CONTROL INVESTIGATION

President Marcos expressed confidence that former Public Works Secretary Manuel Bonoan will “speak only the truth” in the ongoing Senate investigation into the multibillion-peso flood control scandal.

Bonoan, who appeared before the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, explained that misleading project coordinates were submitted due to time constraints, not ill intent.

Malacañang clarified that DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon is verifying alleged ghost projects, with no directive to redo the entire investigation.

The Senate minority expressed disappointment over the hearings, citing insufficient probing into key figures like Martin Romualdez and Trygve Olaivar.

Lawmakers emphasized that evidence, not speculation, should guide accountability in public fund cases.
