DOMINANT DISPLAY: PHILIPPINES SECURE TWIN WINS AT VEGAS OPEN

In a dazzling display of skill, Philippine billiards players Chezka Centeno and Lee Van Corteza claimed victory at the Las Vegas 10-Ball Open of the Predator Pro Billiards Series held at the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino.

Centeno secured the women’s division title by defeating former world nine-ball champion Chen Siming of China with scores of 4-2, 4-2. Meanwhile, Corteza emerged victorious in the men’s division after overcoming compatriot Carlo Biado, a former world nine-ball king, with scores of 4-2, 4-3.

Centeno, the reigning world 10-ball queen, earned a prize of $18,000 (P1 million) for her remarkable achievement, while Corteza, a World Cup of Pool winner and a six-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalist, took home $30,000 (P1.7 million). Biado received $14,000 (P783,000) for his commendable performance.

The twin victories underscore the Philippines’ status as a powerhouse in the world of billiards, reaffirming its position as the epicenter of the sport.
