Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte announced that the Department of Education (DepEd) plans to conduct a pilot test of the revised senior high school curriculum in the academic year 2025-2026.
She made this announcement during the 13th Biennial National Convention of the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI), emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the government and the business sector to enhance students’ skills and employability.
Duterte invited input from the business community regarding the curriculum for Grades 11 and 12, stressing the need for job-skills matching.
She highlighted the significance of developing 21st-century skills, including critical thinking, problem-solving, innovation, and media literacy.
Duterte also underscored the importance of instilling soft skills such as leadership and empathy during learners’ early education.
